- Hi.
-
- I'm in the process of building a sampler for a certain application. The
- frequency band from 300 to 3400 Hz is to be sampled with highest precision
- possibly, while all other signals are to be suppressed.
-
- In order to eliminate unwanted signals I'm opting out best-compromise-sized
- RC-filter elements.
-
- To analyse my samplers output I currently use AudioMaster IV. It does not
- tell me the truth, unfortunatly. When I'm zooming or scrolling, I can see
- slight bit changes on a silent sample, that disappear as soon as I release
- the zoom/scroll button.
-
- Sometimes the opposite happens, I can see gentle noise that disappears
- while zooming.
-
- This is an untolerable situation for building my sampler. How am I
- supposed to remove as much noise as possible when I never can be sure if
- there's noise at all?!
-
- Now I'm looking for a better program.
-
- It should support adjustment of sampling rate, and an _exact_ graphical
- display. Best would be a 256 pixel high window, that maps each
- quantization step to _one_ y in the window. It should also be able to zoom
- that near to the sample that I can see _every_ sample byte.
-
- That way I could see a direct mapping without aliasing, rounding,
- interpolation or other sideeffects that falsify the hardware adjustment
- procedure.
-
- Is there such a program? Or at least a program that fulfils the needs more
- than AudioMaster IV?
